splish splash...

Today Jace walked into our garage and landed in ankle deep water. He asked me what I thought we should do and I obnoxiously replied, "swim in it!" instead we stood in it for over an hour and dumped buckets of water that were collected from our measly tupperware collection. While we were laboring we noticed that water continued to bubble out from the garage drain every time we heard our upstair neighbors use the water. When we realized that we were getting no where we stashed our containers, wiped our feet and made dinner (honey chicken stir fry... way good). When the tech guy came he told us that some pipe was broken which was causing all of our sewage water to overflow into the garage... yeah that's right sewage water... which we so happily pranced around in.This picture doesn't really do it justice. Jace was going to go back in it so I could get a good picture but we decided it wasn't worth it.
we'll let you know when the ecoli kicks in.

Thankfully the Roto Rooter guy came and was able to fix it. Jace kept trying to feed him like he was some stray dog... he eventually took a coke.
I just feel bad for the people who own the house... they keep all of their storage in the garage (including mattresses)

Pit Stop

Jace and I were married at 2:00 in the Salt Lake Temple. We took tons of pictures afterward and then headed off to our reception at Jace's uncle's house in Provo. We knew we wouldn't get to eat at our reception because we'd be busy getting our bride and groom on so we decided to make a pit stop at wendys.
When we pulled up at the drive through the guy delivering our food looked pretty shocked. He asked us if we just got married and then he told Jace to pick a nicer place to take me on our anniversary. Noted.I made Jace unzip the top of my dress so I could breathe while I ate.

Anyone can cook

Turns out Chef Gusteau was right... I'm not totally worthless in the kitchen (Ratatouille reference wa wa). I made Penne Frittata with Basil and Ricotta for our first meal together (ya got nice stuff Emily) The meal turned out great and Jace liked it which made me one very happy wife.
Jace made the salad and we also munched on fresh tomatoes with mozzarella cheese, basil, and balsamic vinegar... it was delish.

looks like we'll be writing a lot of thank you's...

coming home from a honeymoon isn't all that bad when you have this waiting for you...

special thanks to Chelsey for her gift:
just when the old ones were starting to rot... looks like we'll be seeing the "baby blues" for another 2+ years

"Say Video!"

One of Jace's favorite things to do is to take videos when people think he's just taking a picture. I got him first on our honeymoon but then he came back with a vengeance.

This video was taken in the airport in Mexico City on our way home. I was covered in Mosquito bites and couldn't stop scratching so Jace tied me up in his sweatshirt.

"We actually have a lot of hats at home that we're trying to sell..."

On the last day of our honeymoon Jace and I traveled to see Chichen Itza. The ruins were awesome and since we came on a tour bus we had a lot of time to kill before the trip was over to take pictures.

.
One cool thing about Chitzen Itza were the huge iguanas that were everywhere. I tried to catch them several times but those suckers were fast.

We ate at a nearby restaurant that had the best homemade tacos that I've ever tasted. During our meal a bunch of dancers came out and performed. We felt so bad for them because they just looked overworked and miserable.

After visiting the ruins we went to an underground swimming hole. When we got off the bus we were swarmed by the cutest little girls who were trying to sell us handkerchiefs. They were such good saleswomen. I wanted to buy them out and take them home with us, but not the boy... he was mean.

Next we stopped in this adorable town where we got to see a church that was built in the 1600's. It was really cool and reminded me of the movie Cinema Paradiso. A mass was just about to start as we were leaving, and it was neat to see all of the little girls in their Sunday best.

Can Can.

After a great stay in Las Vegas, Jace and I boarded a plane to Cancun where we stayed in an all-inclusive resort called the Grand Sunset Princess (any place that needs an adjective and two nouns to describe it is sure to be amazing). We hit the beach almost everyday, and ate at super swanky restaurants.

Jace and one of our many virgin strawberry daiquiris.

Unfortunately I got really sick during our first night in Cancun. I'm pretty sure it was from the ice that was served in my drink, or food poisoning from the food that we ate in the airport. Either way, I was really weak for three days and spent most of my time in the bathroom... (Jace wanted me to title this post "Can-poo")

just sick and beat.

I regained most of my strength by our last day which allowed us to travel to Chichen Itza which was by far the best part about Mexico (stay tuned for pictures from that). Traveling with Jace was so much fun. He made me feel so safe and beautiful despite how miserable my body was feeling, and I was loving every time that I got to refer to him as my husband!

"I think it's called honeymoon because you look at eachother's butts"

Jace and I began our fabulous honeymoon with a 6 hour road trip to Las Vegas. The drive featured Jace on the vocals, and me on the air drums. I ate my body weight in sunflower seeds, and and we laughed our arses off while listening to Jim Gaffigan.
We landed in Vegas and stayed in an amazing sweet in the Plazzo which Jace's brother Curtis got for us as a wedding present. It was honestly the most amazing hotel room that either of us have ever and probably will ever experience. During our stay in Vegas we ate at great restaurants, and saw the Lion King (turns out vegas shows are just as good if not better than shows on broadway)... the show was wonderful, even Jace was amazed. We had such a great time in Vegas and even though our next stop was Cancun, we were somewhat sad to leave. Thanks Curtis for your gift... it was perfect, and don't fret Vegas, I have a feeling we'll be seeing you soon!

Marrige = neverending sleepovers and a blog

Jace and I were married on May 22nd in the Salt Lake Temple. We just got back from our amazing honeymoon (more on that later) and life is perfect.
